Background[]

After Ron Nasty told Dirk he was leaving the Rutles privately, Dirk retreated to his home. Depressed and angry, he began working on a record with Martini. He sang, and she didn't.

He played every single instrument, including electric and acoustic guitars, bass guitar, vocals, piano, drums, keyboard, saxophone, triangle, Meccano train set, harpsichord, and a stray cat. The album had a very basic approach, and many of the tracks had no lyrics.

The alternate cover.
