"Where Was the Eclipse" is a song written by Stig O'Hara that was first released on the Rutles' 1969 album Shabby Road. Along with "Anything" and "While My Piano Gently Screams", it is one of O'Hara's best-known compositions from the Rutles era. The song was written at the country house of his friend Eric Clapton, where Stig had chosen to play truant for the day, to avoid attending a meeting at the Rutles' Rutle Corps organization.
