The Dirty Mac Band perform.

The Dirty Mac Band (originally The Dirty Mac and Cheese Band) was a British comedy band which became popular in the late 1960's who closely associated with The Rutles. Originally an ensemble band with a revolving cast at the Liverpool Art School, the direction of the group changed substantially when John Lennon joined, streamlining the process and bringing the group to a mainstream level of success. His comedy record, "You Know My Name (Look Up the Number)," was secretly produced by Dirk McQuickly under a pseudonym. The band appeared in "Tragical History Tour", performing "Wild Honey Pie" alongside an exotic dancer.

The band broke up in early 1970, but Lennon would remain friends with Stig O'Hara, and they would later work together on a parody of The Rutles.
