The Rutles play the Cavern.

The Cavern Rutland was, according to spontaneous Rutle historian Emily Pules, the first significant venue which The Rutles played. By all accounts, by this stage in their careers, the band became known as "The Silver Rutles." [1]

Again, according to Pules, it was after they placed the Cavern that the band spent significant time in Hamburg playing Der Rat Keller. Once they returned, they were discovered by their manager Leggy Mountbatten when he accidentally tripped down the stairs leading into the disco. He found their music terrible but loved their trousers, and the rest is history.

The road manager and personal assistant to the Rutles, Pal Kevins worked part-time as a bouncer at the Cavern Rutland before becoming a road manager for the Rutles, in tandem with James Twirlsum.
