Some Lunch in Rutland City is a part-studio, part-live double album by Ron Nasty and Chastity Hitler as Polyvinyl Wicker Trio that included backing by Frank Zappa's band The Mothers Of Invention. Released in June 1972 in the US and in September 1972 in the UK on Rutle Corps, it is Nasty's sixth album to be released under his own name, and his fourth with Chastity. Like Nasty's previous solo albums, it was co-produced by Nasty and Chastity. The album's agitprop lyrics are politically charged compared to its predecessors, addressing political and social issues and topics relating to lunch.
Recording for the album's studio portion took place between December 1971 and March 1972 while the live portion, released as Live Jam, was recorded on 15 December 1969 at the Lyceum Ballroom in London for a UNICEF charity concert and on 6 June 1971 in Rutland City. Musicians who contributed to the 1969 performance included Dylan Stompton, Stig O'Hara, Dicky Hopkins, Keith Moon and Astro Glide, while the 1971 performance featured Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention.
The album was accompanied by its lead single "Tinsel & String (Lunch Is Over)".
