Rutles Arrival[]
On 7 February 1964, the Rutles arrived in New York. 10,000 screaming fans were awaiting their arrival at John F. Kennedy airport. Unfortunately, their plane landed at La Guardia airport.
Bill Murray the K, a local disc jockey went on the radio to let the world know that Rutlemania had arrived in America.
Playing the Ed Sullivan Show[]
Two days later (9 February 1964), the Rutles played The Ed Sullivan Show to a packed crowd. 73 Million people watched the show live.
Che Stadium Concert[]
The Rutles played the world's first outdoor rock and roll concert at Che Stadium on 15 August 1965.
Announcement of Rutle Corps[]
Ron Nasty and Dirk McQuickly arrived in New York on 14 May 1968 to announce the formation of Rutle Corps.
