A book about the baldness of Nasty
Ron is bald was a Rutle conspiracy theory which took hold in the 1980s. The theory states that Ron Nasty, even during his time with The Rutles, was in fact balding very quickly. Ron had supposedly taken to wearing wigs during this time. It also stated that Ron's long-isolation starting in 1975 had, in fact, been triggered by embarrassment over becoming totally bald.
On the The Rutles' Story cover, Ron has the most visible hair (or wig). This could be Ron saying "Hey guys and gals, as you can see I have a very fine head of hair that I grew myself", which is very suspicious.
Previous Rutle conspiracy theories had taken hold, including the beliefs that Stig is dead, Dirk is deaf, or that Barry is also dead. However, this was one of the first to eventually have any basis in reality, as when Nasty began re-appearing in public in the mid-1990s, he indeed had lost his hair.
