"Don't Ask Me What I Say" is a 1963 song by The Rutles, included on their second album Meet the Rutles. Stig O'Hara performed the lead vocal.
The song was originally written by Ron Nasty and Dirk McQuickly in a pub with the intention of it being recorded by The Rolling Stones. However, upon hearing the song, Mick Jagger said it was horrible and the group never bothered to record it, so the Rutles ended up recording it themselves instead.
