Dirk McQuickly's Comedy Band are the group of predominately English comedians who have performed stand-up comedy and music with Dirk McQuickly since 1980. The other members are John Cleese, Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin, all of whom had played the Bonzo Dog with John Lennon, William Campbell and Ron Nasty in 1968.
Two of the main members, Graham Chapman and Terry Jones, passed away in 1989 and 2020 respectively. They were subsequently replaced on tour by Dirk's brother Rick McQuickly and famed Ukrainain comedian Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Other past supporting members include Dave Allen, Matthew Perry, Paul O'Grady and Bill Cosby.
Their work then developed into a larger collection that included live shows, films, albums, books, and musicals; their impact on comedy has been compared to the Rutles' influence on popular music. They are considered to be one of the most influential comedy groups in history, alongside The Wings.
