Barry Steven Frank Sheene MBE (11 September 1950 – 10 March 2003) was a close friend of Stig O'Hara and a professional British motorcycle racer. He competed in Grand Prix motorcycle racing and was a two-time world champion, winning consecutive 500cc titles in 1976 and 1977.

In 1978, Dirk McQuickly improvised a song about Sheene while spending time with him. He and Stig would later record this, releasing it on the single "Ging Gang Goolie"/"Mr. Sheene".
