The Rutles Wiki

Back in '64 is a love song by the Rutles on the 1996 album Archaeology, written by Ron Nasty, as with other newly recorded songs released for the Archaeology album, it was produced by Jeff Lynt.

It was, in some ways, a retrospective on the entire Rutles era, beginning with the singer telling his grandchildren about the 1960s, leading into a triumphant celebration of his glory years, and finally a whistful crescendo, saying "goodbye" to times which have passed.
