НАЗАД В УКРАЇНУ (also known as The Ukrainian Album) is the eighth solo studio album by Dirk McQuickly, originally released in October 1988 exclusively in Ukraine. The album consists entirely of live-in-studio recordings of covers, mainly of rock and roll oldies. The album was a flop because no one understood what the album meant, much less how to understand Russian and Ukrainian.
Unsurprisingly, it was this album that introduced Dirk's future wife Natalia Poklonskaya to his music. Being able to speak both Russian and Ukrainian, she was one of the few people who understood what the album meant.
People have since used Google Translate to understand what Dirk was trying to say.
